Goals from Willard Katsande and Siphiwe Tshabalala helped Kaizer Chiefs secure a 2-1 win over Maritzburg United.
The match was delayed due to thunder storms, and the game only got underway at 20h45.
The conditions certainly hand an effect on both sides, which led to a scrappy affair in the opening 20 minutes at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Chiefs broke the deadlock after 50 minutes when an un-marked Willard Katsande headed home at the far post for his fourth goal of the season.
Roger De Sa opted for a changed five minutes later as Bryce Moon replaced Evans Rusike for the home side.
Komphela made a couple changes of his own after 60 minutes as Gustavo Paez and William Twala were introduced.
Maritzburg leveled matters in the 73rd minute as Mohau Mokate was allowed time and space to slot the ball into the top corner from 12-yards out.
Chiefs restored their lead in the 80th minute when Tshabalala turned home Ramahlwe Mphahlele's low cross from the right flank.
The Team of Choice pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but the Chiefs defence managed to stand firm.
