Ajax Yet To Exercise Rivaldo Option, Time Running Out
Rivaldo Coetzee's Ajax Cape Town Option Hasn't Been Exercised Yet
Ajax Cape Town is yet to exercise their option on the in-demand defender, Rivaldo Coetzee, despite him being the last three months of his contract.
The 20-year-old has played 19 of Ajax’s 24 league games so far this season and has been one of the most used players under Stanley Menzo since his arrival at the club.
It has previously been reported that there is interest in the Bafana Bafana international both locally and overseas, however, up until this point, no official offers have been made public.
The Siya crew has been informed that Ajax, who have a one-year option on the defender, are thought to have until the end of May to extend his contract by a further year and that they are fully expected to do so given the growing interest in him.
There is expected to be plenty of speculation regarding Coetzee’s future once the current Absa Premiership season comes to an end and while they haven’t done it yet, Ajax seems likely to extend it by another year so that they stay in the driving seat with regards to his future.
Ajax is currently 10th place in the league and pushing for a top eight spot in their last six games.
