Bucs Back In For Matsatsantsa’s Williams
Orlando Pirates Linked With Ronwen Williams Again
SuperSport United’s Ronwen Williams is being linked with Orlando Pirates as the 2016/17 season draws to a close.
Williams was first linked with Bucs after the passing of the club’s former number one goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa.
But the move for the Port Elizabeth-born shot-stopper to the Buccaneers did not materialise. As reported in the latest Soccer Laduma newspaper, Bucs are again interested in the Matsatsantsa goalkeeper.
With the July/August transfer window looming, the club could look to Williams to end the side’s long-running search for a consistent goalkeeper.
Pirates have tried Brighton Mhlongo, Siyabonga Mpontshane and Jackson Mabokgwane for various games played this season but sources have revealed that Pirates’ technical staff are still not convinced by the performance of any of the goalkeepers in the squad.
Earlier this year, the club signed Nigerian goalkeeper, Emmanuel Daniel. However, the player is yet to make his official debut for the side.
It is believed that Bucs are in the market for another goalkeeper. Get more information on this and other stories in edition 1022 of Soccer Laduma.
