Ex-Bucs Midfielder To Sign For Eagles?
Isaac Chansa Linked With Royal Eagles
Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Isaac Chansa has been linked with Royal Eagles.
The Zambian international, who had two stints with Pirates – between 2004 and 2007, and 2010 and 2012 – is currently a free agent.
Chansa was most recently on the books of Zanaco FC in the Zambian Premier League, helping them to their seventh league title they won at the end of last year.
He scored the only goal in Zanaco's 1-0 win over Lumwana Radiants when the team sealed its league success in November and also qualified for this year's CAF Champions League.
Chansa, 32, parted ways with Zanaco this year. While sources have confirmed to the Siya crew that the player is already in South Africa and is likely to conclude a deal with Eagles, the KZN club's Richard Makhoba would not confirm or deny the link between his team and the former Bucs star.
"I'll be very honest with you, I'll only be able to see the team train on Tuesday next week. I haven't been around the team when they trained (this week). I'm not sure who's there or not there. They stay in the village and I stay in town," the Eagles general manager told the Siya crew before he boarded a flight to Cape Town.
The promotion-chasing side is scheduled to play against Milano United in the Mother City on Saturday.
