A New Deal For Orlando Pirates Vice Captain On The Cards
It is believed that Orlando Pirates are set to offer their vice-captain, Abbubaker Mobara, a new deal at the club, this before the player enters the final year of his contract.
The Soweto giants completed the signing of the Bafana Bafana international during the July/August transfer window period last year, where he impressed the club’s technical team with his top performances in his debut season.
Mobara was named as vice-captain to team captain, Thabo Matlaba, this season, with management impressed with his influence in the Soweto giants’ setup.
The Siya crew has since been informed by sources close to the Bucs that management is set to offer the 23-year-old a new deal at the club, despite the player still having over 18-months left on his current contract with the Soweto giants.
The former Ajax Cape Town player put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Soweto giants during the July/August transfer window period last year, which means that his contract is set to come to an end on June 30, 2019.
However, management at the Bucs are not prepared to take any chances and according to Siya sources, the club is also looking to reward the player for his good efforts and is set to offer Mobara a new and extended deal.
