Raga Bolo: Meet Zuma!
Smirnoff Raga Bolo: Meet Sibusiso Zuma!
Retired Bafana Bafana icon Sibusiso “Rhee” Zuma will be adding even more star power to the 2017 Smirnoff Raga Bolo five-a-side street soccer championship as one of this year’s Smirnoff Kings. He will be joining last year’s Kings – former Orlando Pirates midfielders, Thabo Mngomeni and Benedict Vilakazi together with ex-Kaizer Chiefs stars, Pollen Ndlanya and Stanton Fredericks
Zuma began his career with African Wanderers in 1995 and soon after joined Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana, representing South Africa 67 times during the 10 years he was on the national squad. He later played for Danish club F.C. Copenhagen, where he gained legend status for his efforts in helping the club to win its second Danish football championship. The goal he scored with a bicycle kick in the last match of the 2001 season was even voted the best Superliga goal of the decade. What’s more, a monument capturing the moment was erected by the club. After five years in Denmark, Zuma returned to home soil for a brief stint with Mamelodi Sundowns before heading back to Scandinavia to enlist with FC Nordsjælland. Before retiring in 2015, he served as a striker for local teams Vasco da Gama and Supersport United.
Now Zuma and his fellow Kings will travel to communities around the country as part of the Smirnoff Raga Bolo roadshow.
