A former coach of Teko 'Dona' Modise has spoken about how he convinced ex-Bafana Bafana mentor Pitso Mosimane to give the midfield genius his first-ever deal in Mzansi's topflight.
Mosimane was the first coach to give ex-PSL Footballer of the Season his big break in topflight football when he signed him for SuperSport United in 2006.

At the time, Modise was coming off an impressive season with City Pillars, where he finished as the top goalscorer with 14 goals, and was the Player of the Season under Serbian coach Vladislav Heric, and in explaining his role in the move the mentor commended Mosimane for the professional manner in which the matter was handled.

"Before Teko went to SuperSport Pitso called me and asked me how he was and all of that. Pitso is a very professional coach. He called me and we discussed Teko, but to be honest out of 16 clubs (in the topflight), 15 were after him (Modise), I believe. Pitso and I met in Sandton about Teko," Heric told the Siya crew.
