Injury Keeps SA Man From Valenciennes Debut

Lebo Mothiba Will Have To Wait For His Valenciennes Debut

South African U23 international, Lebo Mothiba, will have to wait a little longer for his Valenciennes debut due to a thigh injury ruling him out this weekend.

The 21-year-old joined the Ligue 2 outfit on the last day of the January transfer window after his parent club, Lille, decided to send him out in search of more regular game time in the French second tier.

However, Mothiba is yet to feature for his new club as he first waited for his paperwork and is now battling a thigh niggle.

It was confirmed on the club’s official website that the South African would not be part of their squad for tonight’s game, although he will be eager to try and make sure that he’s fit to take on Amiens in a weeks’ time.

Mothiba made his senior debut last month when he came on as a second half sub in the French Cup against Excelsior, and will be eager to get more games under his belt during the second half of the season.
