Mothiba Set For Debut, Named In Valenciennes Squad
Lebo Mothiba Could Make His Valenciennes Debut Tonight
South African youngster, Lebo Mothiba, finally seems ready to make his Valenciennes debut after being named in their squad for tonight.
The 21-year-old – who is currently on loan from Lille – joined the club back in January as his side sought out some more regular game time for him, however, an early injury meant that he was unable to feature up until this point.
Now, though, the Diambars Academy graduate is back fit and is ready to help his side as they look to move up the table in France’s Ligue 2.
While it is unlikely that the South African U23 international will be named in the starting XI tonight, he has made the matchday squad against Tours and could make an appearance at some stage in the game.
Speaking to Valenciennes’s official website about his return, Mothiba said, “I am very excited and happy to be back in the group, to be on the ground. It was difficult for me. I arrived with a small injury and I aggravated it by training. To return was not simple, I had to work out of the group, with the physiotherapist and the physical trainer.
“I worked hard on the physical plan to get there, it is the case today and I am happy. I am ready to play for the team, to help them, to work for them. Together, we can win matches and go up the rankings.”
Valenciennes face Tours tonight at 21h00 South African time.
