Dolly Beats The Drop, Looks Ahead

Keagan Dolly's Montpellier Have Officially Stayed Up

By Soccer Laduma - May 15, 2017 06:55 PM
Keagan Dolly breathed a sigh of relief on Sunday as his side secured their spot in Ligue 1 next season, despite a 3-1 defeat to Olympique Lyonnais.

The 24-year-old was a second-half substitute for Montpellier as they went down 3-1 to Lyon at home over the weekend, playing the last 10 minutes of the game once the result had been sealed.

Defeats for Caen and Lorient meant that his side went four points of the drop zone with one game to go, putting to rest any relegation worries that the club may have had ahead of next season.

Dolly will now be focused on making sure that he has a strong pre-season with his side as he looks to try and follow in the footsteps of his former teammate, Bongani Zungu and become a regular feature in his second campaign in Europe.

Montpellier face Angers next Saturday in their last game before taking a break ahead of the 2017/18 season, with Dolly expected to feature at some stage.

Meanwhile, also in France, Kermit Erasmus played 67 minutes as RC Lens kept up the pace on Ligue 2 leaders, Strasbourg, with the club still in with a chance of winning the title on the last day of the season.

Lebo Mothiba’s Valenciennes look set to finish mid-table after their 0-0 draw with Auxerre, and he will have considered his loan spell a successful one once his early injury problems were put to one side.

These are the players Stuart need to visit first before end of the season. We have a game on the 10 June 2017 and against the good side in the continent. This is not the time to build.
