Eric Tinkler's charges had couple chances after 30 minutes as Brockie volleyed over at the far post, before Thuso Phala went close an effort from distance two minutes later.
Both sides managed to maintain the high tempo throughout, while there were also a number big tackles in the middle of the park.
SuperSport managed to grab a second goal just before the break when Teboho Mokoena's header found Brockie, who headed home at the far post.
Fadlu Davids opted for a double change at the start of the second half, as Andrea Feliccia and Yazid Atouba were introduced.
SuperSport enjoyed most of the possession in the second half with Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Teboho Mokoena spraying the ball around the park.
Eric Tinkler opted for a change after 66 minutes as Bradley Grobler made way for debutant Sifiso Myeni.
Ronwen Williams was finally called into action after 75 minutes, as the SuperSport shot-stopper produced a good low save to keep out Deolin Mekoa's strike.
Two minutes later, Maritzburg were reduced to 10 men when Atouba received his second yellow card of the game. He will now miss the next two matches.
