The next transfer window could be a busy one for the Premier League leaders, with two players – Eric Garcia and Sergio Aguero – set to move on from the club as free agents.
With a vacancy opening in the middle of attack, Guardiola's City are naturally being linked with a number of world-class players ahead the 2021/22 campaign, including Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
The Norway international has been heavily tipped to replace Aguero as City's main centre-forward, and with his father Alfe-Inge having represented the English club during his playing days, many believe Haaland could be interested in following in his dad's footsteps in Manchester.
According to a report in The Sun, the striker will demand huge wages before agreeing a deal with the EPL giants in a move that could see him become one of the highest-paid players in the history of English football.
It is claimed that Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane could be an alternative to Haaland, with the England captain reportedly seeking an exit from the Lilywhites in a bid to compete for the biggest club trophies possible.
Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish is also believed to be on City's transfer radar, as is Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku, who has scored 59 goals in 85 appearances for the Italian club since leaving Manchester United in 2019.
Report: Man City Make Big Messi Call
Lionel Messi remains an option for Guardiola, although reports in Spain suggest that the 33-year-old Argentine could recommit himself to FC Barcelona ahead of next season.
