'Daniel Cardoso's Tendencies Won't Take Him Anywhere'

'Daniel Cardoso's Tendencies Won't Take Him Anywhere'

Uthini?

Kaizer Chiefs centre-back Daniel Cardoso broke his silence and spoke out about Giovanni Solinas' tenure at the club. He explained how he lost confidence in his abilities as the former Chiefs head coach would continuously chop and change the squad, and added that other players lost confidence as the former head coach heaped too much praise on forward Khama Billiat. Fans have since slammed the defender for criticising his former mentor.

Soccer Laduma reader Jeffrey Cigda feels the defender is becoming arrogant:

"Tendencies like this won't take him anywhere. Stop criticising Solinas and acting as if Chiefs are going to keep you until you feel that you can go to another team."

Cardoso received further backlash from fans who warned him not to get too comfortable at Chiefs. Soccer Laduma reader and regular contributor Vhivha warned the player to always be at his best on the field and to never burn bridges:

"Cardoso, let this stick on your mind. Should you blunder this time, we will boo you up until you decide to leave Chiefs. We do not like people who bad-mouth others. In life, you do not burn bridges because you do not know your tomorrow [future]."

Although the centre-back received a lot of criticism for his sentiments towards Solinas, some fans protected him. For example, Sandile Duba agrees with Cardoso, that giving Billiat too much praise damaged the morale and confidence of his teammates:

"I agree with Cardoso that Solinas was a flop. He was always chopping and changing the team and giving Billiat favouritism [and] he even called him 'Messi' of SA [South African] football. How do you think those remarks made other players feel?"
