New Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets has admitted he was shocked by Lionel Messi's departure from the Catalan giants.
Pep Offers Strange Response To Messi Question
Although it has been more than a month since Messi left Barcelona, many are still processing the fact that he now plays for a different club.
The 34-year-old signed for Paris Saint-Germain a few days after it was confirmed he would not be able to remain at the Camp Nou, with the Argentine having only appeared once so far for the French giants since his arrival in Paris.
Speaking about Messi's untimely exit from the Blaugrana recently, Busquets said that he is battling to accept it, but added that it is something he has to come to grips with in order to move forward.
"I felt like everyone else, I was in a state of shock, because of what Leo means for Barca and what he means personally to me and our families," he said, according to France24.
"I had emotions that were difficult to manage.
"But these are hard decisions that are not up to us and now we have to change the mindset."
Messi made 778 appearances for Barcelona and contributed to 973 goals across all competitions for the club, winning 10 LaLiga titles and four UEFA Champions Leagues in the process.
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner was unable to stay at his boyhood club due to financial issues, with his contract expiring at the end of June.
