Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v Polokwane City
Date: 14 March 2017
Venue: Loftus Versveld Stadium
Mamelodi Sundowns will look to get their league campaign back-on-track when they host Polokwane City in an Absa Premiership encounter tonight at the Loftus Versveld Stadium.
The reigning league champions are on the back of a winless streak of two games in the league following their 1-0 loss to Cape Town City, which ended their eight-match unbeaten run in the league. Prior to that loss, the Brazilians played to a goalless stalemate against Chippa United.
Masandawana occupy fifth spot on the table and with 33 points from their 16 allotted matches and victory can see them leapfrog Kaizer Chiefs into fourth position and go two points behind the table-toppers with three games in-hand.
Pitso Mosimane has made a few changes to the side that lost in Cape Town with forward Khama Billiat yet to feature since the 2-1 victory against Platinum Stars.
The visitors occupy seventh positon on the table with 26 points garnered from their 20 matches, but have endured a dismal form of a late.
Rise and Shine are on a seven game winless streak which includes five draws in their last five games - their most recent being a goalless stalemate against Baroka.
Phuthi Mohafe will be at the helm of the side following the unexpected departure of coach Luc Eymael who has since been appointed as Bloemfontein Celtic's mentor.
Sundowns haven’t lost back-to-back games in the Absa Premiership since September 2015.
