Ramos' Warning For Higuain Ahead Of UCL Final
Sergio Ramos' Warning For Gonzalo Higuain Ahead Of UEFA Champions League Final
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has warned his friend and Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain he will not have it easy in the UEFA Champions League final on 3 June.
The two stars built up a good friendship during the six years they spent together at Los Blancos, but that will be put aside when they go head to head in Cardiff, Wales, next month.
Ramos, who is hoping to guide Real Madrid to back-to-back UCL titles, has warned his old friend he will not be getting any favours from him in the final.
"He's a great friend and we have a great relationship from when he was here," Ramos told beIN SPORTS.
"But I won't give away peanuts to 'Pipa' inside the pitch."
The Spanish giants were given a bit of a scare by Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their semi-final when the Rojiblancos raced to a two-goal lead within 20 minutes, but an Isco strike killed any hope Atletico had of advancing to the final.
"Nobody said it was going to be easy. I am proud of this team. When the match got complicated, this team showed personality and went for the goal," Ramos added.
"I emphasise the personality of the team after 20 minutes with a very high pressure and we have obtained what we were looking for."
Real are looking to become the first team to retain the Champions League trophy, and if they do win the tournament, they will have done so a 12th time.
