10 Players Who Could Break The Transfer World Record

10 Players Who Could Break The Transfer World Record

Paul Pogba joined Manchester United in a deal worth €105 million at the beginning of the season, but these 10 players, including one African, could break the record for the most expensive deal in history.

FourFourTwo recently compiled a list of players who could break Pogba's transfer record, and then ranked them based on their probability of a record deal.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester United but still has contract until 2022 with the London club. He is part of Mauricio Pochettino's exciting project at White Hart Lane and it seems unlikely he will leave in the next year or two.

Romelu Lukaku snubbed a new contract offer from Everton and could become hot property in the coming transfer window. However, with his contract expiring in 2018, it doesn't seem likely that his move away from Goodison Park would break Pogba's record.

Paulo Dybala has been linked with both Spanish giants, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, after impressing for Juventus, while Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele is also on FFT's list.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the only African on the list and has been publicly flirting with a move to Los Blancos. His club's CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, however, has insisted that only a massive sum would tempt the club to sell their star striker.

Antoine Griezmann has been linked with moves to United and even Real Madrid, but his current release clause is reportedly below Pogba's transfer fee. The only way he could break the world record would be if he were to sign a new deal that included a new buyout clause.

Neymar's release clause is definitely higher than Pogba's fee, but the Brazilian has no real reason to leave FC Barcelona.

Kylian Mbappe has been Europe's breakthrough star this season, impressing with 19 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for Monaco. His club has insisted that any move would cost more than Anthony Martial's £57 million (R980 million) fee when he joined the Red Devils, but that's still far from what United paid for his countryman Pogba.

Eden Hazard has been in brilliant form this season and is reportedly seen as the next "Galactico" by Real president Florentino Perez, but it remains to be seen whether Chelsea would be prepared to sell him. If so, the current world record could indeed fall.

FFT believe that Tottenham's Dele Alli is the most likely player to break Pogba's world record deal, but the 21-year-old could wait at least another year to see just how far Pochettino's promising project at the London club can go.

Pogba did'nt deserve that price on a serious note, playing position in football also count, The most expensive player must be able to score atleast 30 goals a season, and should have done that atleast on 2 or3 season
