This year, the Portuguese tactician ended in joint-11th position after earning as many points as Germany's Joachim Low. Last year's winner and Queiroz both received two points from the IFFHS jury, which consists of football experts from 90 countries.

Deschamps received 304 points, beating Croatia's Zlatko Dalic, who got 198 points, and Belgium's Roberto Martinez (84 points) to the yearly accolade.
