FC Barcelona chief Mateu Alemany has explained why new signing Ferran Torres has not been registered by LaLiga after completing his move from Manchester City.
The Spanish forward was unveiled to the supporters at the Camp Nou last week but is yet to make his debut for the Catalan giants.
Dani Alves has already made two appearances since re-signing for the club last month, but it seems the Spanish club will need to offload more players to lower the wage bill.
Barcelona have already loaned out Philippe Coutinho and Alex Collado for the remainder of the season, but there will need to be more departures before Torres can be registered.
"The exit of Coutinho helps us, it generates Fair Play (money), but not enough," he said, according to Football Espana.
"We are working to maximise and get other exits and other situations that produce the Fair Play to register Ferran Torres, who is unfortunately not available due to covid."
Barcelona will have to get the job done before the January transfer window closes, otherwise, Torres will not be registered for the second half of the season.
