De Gea has come under heavy scrutiny for individual errors in recent weeks, most notably against FC Barcelona, Everton, Manchester City and Chelsea.According to BBC Sport, the 28-year-old shot-stopper has been directly responsible for three errors leading to goals in his past four games for the Mancunians – as many as in his previous 123 matches for the club.
The four-time United Player of the Year extended his poor run of form against the Blues on Sunday, spilling a routine long-range effort from defender Antonio Rudiger to allow Marcos Alonso to tap in on the stroke of half-time.
When discussing the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper's form, Solskjaer categorically stated that no one should "blame him" for any points that have been dropped recently.
"David has been unbelievable for this club," he told BBC Sport.
"We support each other. There is no chance anyone can blame him for losing points.
"He knows he could have had that shot, but that is football. David likes to play games. I will have chats with him and he will respond in the right way."
De Gea has made 45 appearances across all competitions for United so far this season, conceding 60 goals along the way.
