Sevilla 6-4 Espanyol
Sevilla began their La Liga campaign with a thrilling 6-4 victory over Espanyol on Saturday evening.
Goals from Pablo Sarabia and Luciano Vietto cancelled out Pablo Piatti's eighth-minute strike, before Espanyol went 3-2 up thanks to strikes from Victor Sanchez and Hernen Perez.
The Europa League champions then hit back through Vietto just before the halftime break. Franco Vazquez (54'), Wissam Ben Yedder (66') and Hiroshi Kiyotake (74') made it 6-3. While, Gerard Moreno netted another consolation for the Catalan outfit in the 79th minute.
Granada 1-1 Villarreal
Villarreal got their La Liga campaign underway with a point, after being held to a 1-1 draw by Granada on Saturday evening.
Samu Castillejo handed the Yellow Submarine the lead after the hour-mark, before Granada leveled matters through Ezequiel Ponce in the 65th minute.
Deportivo La Coruna 2-1 Eibar
Deportivo La Coruna came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Eibar on Friday evening.
Ramis handed the visitors the lead after 55 minutes, before Pedro Mosquera leveled matters in the 69th minute.
Deportivo went on to secure the win in the 87th minute when Lucas Perez converted from the penalty spot.
Malaga 1-1 Osasuna
Malaga and Osasuna began the campaign with a point, after playing a goalless draw on Friday evening.
Juan Anor gifted Malaga the lead after 56 minutes, but Fran Merida secured the equaliser in the 85th minute.
