The Portuguese was sacked by Chelsea halfway through the 2015-2016 season, following a string of poor results.

Mourinho has since taken charge at Old Trafford, but the club currently sit in sixth spot, eight points behind Liverpool.

However, Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has leaped to his former manager's defence after the poor start.

"He's not a has-been," Drogba told RTL.

"I think that it's a very big challenge for him. I think he has to take some time to build a team."

The Red Devils are still competing in the UEFA Europa League, while they are in quarterfinals of the EFL Cup.
